About

• Schedule: Practices begin in late July and seasons can run into December.
Los Gatos-Campbell Youth Football and Cheer is a 100% volunteer, non-profit organization focused on serving youth in their community through teaching game fundamentals, academic excellence, and dedication both on and off the field. LGC Pop Warner’s mission is to introduce boys and girls to the fundamentals of football and cheerleading in a safe, adult-supervised setting, provide organized competition in a safe environment, teach sportsmanship, discipline and love of the game, and encourage players to maintain satisfactory grades in school while balancing scholastic and athletic efforts.
The organization is a 501(c)3 non-profit and operates under National Pop Warner, with all Board Members, Coaches, Assistant Coaches, and staff members serving as volunteers. It was formed by the merger of the Campbell Bears, Cambrian Valley Longhorns, West Valley Falcons, and the Los Gatos-Saratoga Panthers, and it serves children who live in the communities of Los Gatos, Saratoga, Cambrian Park, Campbell, Willow Glen, Almaden, and West San Jose. Los Gatos–Cambrian Pop Warner is about to begin the 2026 season, which will be its 57th year of offering Pop Warner cheerleading and football programs. LGC Cheer returns for 2026, and Girls Flag Football is new for 2026.
The leadership team includes President Doug Artman, Vice-President JB Cahoon, Treasurer Fred Sporck, Football Athletic Director Brandon Wright, Equipment Director Bob Van Gelder, Safety Director Matt Strand, Marketing/Communications Director Carlos Espinosa, and Sergeant At Arms Troy Hastings. The program uses HitCheck – a sideline concussion diagnostic tool – and requires USA Football Heads Up certification for coaches.
