The camp’s mission states that it is designed to promote self-esteem, confidence, and camaraderie as children connect with each other and the outdoors and spend time off screens. Registration for Spring, Summer, and Fall 2026 activities is live, and Summer Fish Camp week-long day camps include a Salty Lady Charter Boat Day, while Overnight Camp Outs at Lake Berryessa include a Saturday pontoon boat rental and Charter Boat Days have a five-guest “Guest Day” option. The program provides transportation to fishing locations, and families can also purchase Korty’s Fish Camp gear such as hats and shirts.
Korty’s Fish Camp was voted “Best Children’s Camp” by the 2023 Pacific Sun Magazine Reader’s Poll and was voted Best Kid’s Summer Camp in 2023 by the Pacific Sun Voter’s Choice Awards, and it has quickly become described as a Marin County institution. Founder Jonathan Korty was born and raised in Marin County and has been fishing the waters of the North Bay for over 45 years. Staff member Jake, age 27, was born and raised in Bolinas, has worked on commercial fishing boats in Alaska and in Bolinas, and is described as great with kids, and his dog Koa quickly became the fish camp mascot. Korty’s Fish Camp employs an ever-growing team of alumni who have been part of the Fish Camp family for years.
Parents describe their children developing a passion for fishing that has lasted for years, learning about respecting nature and leaving no trace, and gaining confidence while learning both basic and more advanced elements of fishing. Testimonials mention kids catching a wide variety of fish, including bass at Bon Tempe Reservoir and bat rays and leopard sharks at Stinson Beach, and say that children enjoy spending time outdoors exploring wild landscapes with the camp team. Families report that their children look forward to returning each year, that the camp has become a cherished summer tradition, and that experiences have been “nothing short of fantastic,” “EPIC,” and “10/10.” Several parents credit Jonathan Korty and the camp with bringing an important new dimension into their children’s lives and describe Korty and his crew as “the absolute best,” “true local treasures,” and “really incredible” with their kids.
