About
Rally Camps is a multi-sport day camp where campers rotate through basketball, soccer, baseball, tennis, floor hockey, and other sports, games, and recreational activities. Campers take part in fun competitions and games while learning the fundamentals of team sports. Campers also strive to earn awards for effort and leadership and work to propel their teams to success.
• Ages: 4–13 years old
• Price: Calabasas Summer Day Camp Pre-K–8 $450; Sherman Oaks Summer Day Camp Pre-K–8 $450
Rally Camps states that its goal is to teach indelible life skills and foster fun experiences through sports and other activities during the times that children are out of school. Rally was founded in 2012 and has operated programs for numerous professional sports teams for over 10 years. Rally Enterprises operates the official summer camp programs of the San Francisco Giants, San Diego Padres, Los Angeles Angels, and New York Mets in each team’s home market, as well as Rally Day Camps.
Each Rally Camp site has a trained medical staff member, such as an EMT, paramedic, or nurse, on-site for the duration of the camp day. Staff complete ongoing training on safety protocols and procedures, and Rally has a zero-tolerance policy for any activities that may put campers at risk either physically or emotionally. Rally conducts regular safety checks and inspections of grounds, facilities, and equipment and uses a digital attendance platform to ensure an authorized grown-up picks up each child. Families have the option for early pick-up or late drop-off. Rally amplifies fun, eliminates screen time, and keeps kids moving with sports, games, and activities.
Rally focuses on hiring professional educators with deep experience and understanding of child management and development. The leadership team includes Kevin Hoover, Chief Executive Officer; Katherine Rothschild, Chief of Staff; Madi Earnshaw, Director, Operations & Marketing; and Chris Evans, General Manager, Rally Day Camps. Chris Evans holds a BA in English and History from UC Irvine, a Masters in Education Organization and Leadership from the University of Illinois, USATF Level II Certification Endurance Athletes, and USATF Special Certification Cross-Country Coach. Katherine Rothschild holds a Bachelor of Science in Hotel Administration from Cornell University. Madi Earnshaw holds a Bachelors of Business Administration from the University of San Diego and is working towards her Masters in Business Administration.
Rally notes that Kevin Hoover serves as the Education Chair on the board of the California Collaboration for Youth. Kevin and his wife, Laura, are active members of several organizations that serve underprivileged youth and that provide opportunities for safety and growth.
