About

Immersive Beijing After School Program includes activities such as Chinese New Year celebrations, building models of famous landmarks, putting on a play based on Chinese folklore, Chinese calligraphy, Kung Fu, and cooking. All classes are conducted entirely in Chinese, and the schedule is filled with Chinese learning, specialist classes, and Chinese project time. The program uses a project-based approach to language learning and integrates traditional Chinese culture, with students living an authentic Chinese calendar all year round.

• Ages: 5–12 years old
• Schedule: Drop-off between 2:45 pm and 3:30 pm, pick-up between 5:30 pm and 6:15 pm
• Price: We do offer referral benefits ($50-$100 off) year round for families.

The program enrolls year round and offers an after school program, spring camp, and summer camp. Class size in Menlo Park and San Mateo is kept under 10 children per classroom, and teachers and specialists in those locations have a Master’s degree or higher and experience working with children in prestigious private schools. The program uses a wide range of sensory materials, emphasizes mentoring over drilling, and places emphasis on children taking initiative, making decisions, and assuming responsibility for their learning. The stated mission is “Cultivating cultural ambassadors through innovative, fun programs,” and the founder is Sherry Zhang. The organization started Chinese teaching using a complete project-based approach without using textbooks five years ago. In Fremont, pick-up services for their affiliated program are provided by their partner Shaolin Temple U.S.A.
