The Boys & Girls Club of Merced County has provided a positive, healthy learning environment for children locally since 1993. The organization’s mission is to enable all young people, especially those who need it the most, to be productive, caring, and responsible individuals. Boys & Girls Clubs of Merced County serves youth and families in the cities of Merced, Planada, Gustine, and Los Banos. The leadership team includes Dr. May Moua, who serves as Chief Executive Officer of Boys & Girls Clubs of Merced County. The Club curriculum focuses on strengthening academic aptitude, physical fitness, health awareness, and career ambitions of members, preparing them to graduate high school with a plan for their futures. The organization lists core values of Integrity, Collaboration, Accountability, Respect, and Excellence, and states a belief that greatness exists in every child and that positive mentorship can change a child’s trajectory for a lifetime. The organization is launching a capital campaign to build a permanent home where more young people across Merced County can feel supported, inspired, and empowered to thrive, and membership costs $20 per child per year for non-members to join.
