Camp Funderblast was started by long-time camp maestro Veronica Rae Cowen, and was born at Scott Valley Swimming & Tennis Club. Camp Funderblast has been at Homestead Valley Community Center since the summer of 2015. The program states a mission of “Supporting Kids In Being Their Best!!!” and describes its vision as creating a space where each child feels safe, loved, and seen. The camp notes that it has filled up the past few summers and encourages early registration to save a spot.

Camp Funderblast operates at five locations and partners with community organizations including Homestead Valley Community Association and Peace Lutheran Church, which has hosted Summer Camps, After School Camp, and School Holiday Camps since the pandemic began. The Homestead Valley Community Association’s mission is to enhance community for residents through cultural, educational and recreational activities, events and service. Families can also learn more about gifting positivity to the world through InspirationCampaign.org, a non-profit that Veronica helped start in 2012.
