The Strawberry Recreation District (SRD) was established in 1949 and aims to enrich the quality of life in the community by offering diverse recreational programs. The program is part of an independent state special district funded in part by local property taxes. In partnership with the Tiburon Peninsula Foundation, SRD provides the Youth Scholarship Program for Marin County residents under the age of 18.
