Soma Aquatics Foundation Free Swim Lessons

Soma Aquatics Foundation Free Swim Lessons offers Free Swim Lessons (Learn-to-Swim Programming) for participants who take part in structured swim classes. All swimmers ages 4-6 start in the Bubbles & Bobs level, and advancement to the next level happens only after completing the current level and receiving a ribbon. Participants must be able to follow instructor directions at all times and must enroll in the correct age and skill level, or the appointment is voided.

Soma Aquatics Foundation Free Swim Lessons is part of Soma Aquatics, whose stated mission is to promote water safety in communities by providing swim lessons and pool access to anyone and everyone, regardless of socioeconomic status. The program provides free swim lessons in Marin and Sonoma Counties for children and adults, using a combination of volunteer and professional instructors and lifeguards. In Marin, it offers free swim lessons and pool access for youth, adults, and families, and participants who complete the program are encouraged to participate competitively, with Soma working to create scholarship opportunities for youth to continue in aquatic sports.

Participants must be ages 4 or older for swim classes. All swimmers ages 4-6 must begin in Bubbles & Bobs. Advancement to the next level requires completion of the current level and receipt of a ribbon. For safety, participants must be able to follow instructor directions at all times. Participants must enroll in the correct age and skill level; incorrect enrollment will result in a voided appointment. Incorrect enrollments are time consuming and take away from time available for swim lessons.
