The academy’s mission is to inspire, teach, and encourage Indian culture and heritage through dance. Students learn a variety of Indian dance forms from professional and highly qualified Bollywood industry choreographers, and the program is open to all levels, including beginners, intermediate, and advanced dancers. The Winter-Spring Dance Session 2026 is offered with new choreographies, expert instructors, and a DANCEPIRATION Spring Fest Showcase (date to be determined), and there is a free trial available for new or first-time students. ICC Bollywood Dance Academy is described as one of the most dynamic and vibrant academies of performing arts in the Bay Area and as a prestigious academy that offers training in many Bollywood dance forms, with classes running throughout the year for kids, teens, and adults.
India Community Center is a non-religious and non-political organization with a goal to unite, serve, and celebrate Indian culture in the community. It was conceived as a place where every generation of the Indian diaspora can connect with their culture and where people of other cultures can explore and experience Indian traditions and values. ICC offers many programs and free services, and organizes classes, events, and concerts that are attended by the community. ICC is financially supported through membership fees, community donations, and corporate, foundation, and government funding, and it is described as the largest Indian American community center in North America. The organization’s leadership history includes founders Anil and Gautam Godhwani, first Chairperson of the Board of Trustees Talat Hasan, first President of the Board of Directors Anil Godhwani, and early advisor Naren Bakshi, along with several other community members who worked to establish ICC.
Testimonials about ICC mention event arrangements with attention to room setup, food service, and bar service, a preschool program that blends cultural and academic elements with detailed art and craft projects related to Indian culture, and support for community events such as an annual mega event in 2022.
