Gurus of Dance started in 2009 under founder Aditya Patel and describes itself as Bay Area's Biggest Bollywood Dance School and America's Premier Bollywood Dance Company. The leadership team includes performance instructors Varsha Bhat and Ishita Jalan; captains Isha Joshi, Shreeya Setty, Tanishka Bhaskar, Aayushi Dixit, Anika Kapoor, Jiya Phagwani, and Oviya Ravi; instructors Pranatee Shah, Sharanya Warrier, Iyana Garg, Dione Dacuycuy, Prathibha Gaekwad, Maahi Patel, David Javier, and Aanya Hariharan; and assistant instructors Vedika Singhania, Snehal Mohanty, Vaisali Panyam, Ruhi Agarwal, and Lavanya Jain. In 2017, the team was crowned National Champions in the DANCE USA DANCE reality show on ZEE-USA. The company states that its Performing Arts Center is a creative space where multiple dance styles come together, taught by the best of the best instructors, and that it is a place to learn, express, and perform under one roof.
Gurus of Dance presently offers Bollywood dance classes across multiple Bay Area locations, including Dublin, Cupertino, Fremont Central and Ardenwood, Evergreen, and Mountain House, and offers after school classes at some schools. The program conducts themed Summer Camps for Kids and Juniors every year between June and August and organizes the SPLASHOMANIA Holi event every year. Its dance crews have performed at major music concerts and sporting events, including NBA Warriors Chase Center Half Time and Prime Time performances and an NHL San Jose Sharks SAP Center Half Time performance. Since 2022, the program has used Nikki’s Costume Creations costumes for all performances, and Nitin Bhalla serves as the designing, animation, and VFX partner through Pixels3, with film credits including Dhurandhar, Airlift, and Ram Setu.
