West Coast World Martial Arts Milpitas was founded over 25 years ago, and the broader organization began when two young Taekwondo black belts opened their own martial arts school in 1977. The leadership team includes GGM KJN Ernie Reyes, KJN Sandy Betke, and BKJN Ethan Nhan. KJN Sandy Betke began martial arts at age 6, has over 40 years of martial arts training and teaching experience, and holds a 9th degree Black Belt with the WCWMA Association. BKJN Ethan Nhan has been training in martial arts for 10 years and received his 4th degree black belt in October 2020. The stated purpose of West Coast World Martial Arts is to develop students physically, mentally, and spiritually and to establish extraordinary character, with teaching based on the values of Honor, Loyalty, Family, and Bravery.
