AllCode Academy is founded by Shilpa Deshpande, Founder & Lead Instructor. Shilpa Deshpande holds an M. S. degree in Computer Engineering from San Jose State University and has worked as a software engineer at companies in the Bay Area. The academy states “Coding for all” as its mission and aims to make coding accessible to students who are under-privileged or going through hardships. The program offers a free 30-minute trial class, a refer-a-friend program with a free class if the referral turns into a sign-up, and no limit on the number of referrals. Free classes and discounts are given every year to under-privileged students or those going through hardships, and the academy partners with schools, after-school clubs, and education organizations to provide coding classes tailored to their needs, including workshops suitable for scouts, game nights, and after-school events. The program notes extensive experience working with kids and technology and a vision that the young generation from all backgrounds, ages, skill levels, and interests engage in coding. A team from the program received special recognition with the opportunity to be featured on NBC’s Today in the Bay.

Parents and students report that classes such as Web Design, Game Design, and JavaScript coding include work with HTML, CSS, JavaScript, shapes, arrays, and website projects. Testimonials describe instruction that explains programs thoroughly, uses creative projects for homework, encourages going outside the box, and includes kids’ progress reports. Families note that students have been learning Game Design and Web Development over the course of a year, building games in JavaScript and making websites using HTML/CSS to showcase projects, and that students enjoy classes such as Web Design and Game Design. One parent describes Shilpa as a patient teacher and reports that a child has learned a lot from her.
