About

Youth Martial Arts Training includes youth classes that combine kickboxing, jiu jitsu, and wrestling. The program also offers Brazilian Jiu-jitsu, Judo, strength training, High Intensity Interval Training, and Muay Thai, using professional-grade equipment such as barbells, kettlebells, dumbbells, resistance tools, conditioning machines, mats, and bodyweight systems. Seasonal camps and clinics are also part of the program’s offerings, along with a dedicated recovery room and performance-focused programming that emphasizes proper coaching, long-term development, and community.

• Ages: 5–18 years old
• Schedule: Class options Monday–Friday afternoons and early evenings, plus morning classes on Saturdays and Sundays

All Youth Martial Arts classes are taught by qualified and experienced instructors, and the classes are beginner friendly. Families are asked to bring a water bottle, workout clothes, and a positive attitude, and the gym has gloves available to rent for kickboxing or Muay Thai classes. The program operates within a clean, well-maintained training space for athletes, families, and adults of all levels, and it is part of a gym that has multiple locations in Sunnyvale, CA and Milpitas, CA.

Coach Rudi is the Head Kickboxing and Muay Thai Instructor and is a San Shou World Champion with decades of experience in the Bay Area combat-sports community. Coach Jake is the owner, earned his degree in Kinesiology from Cal Poly San Luis Obispo, and later earned his executive MBA at Stanford, where he helps coach and program strength and conditioning for the wrestling team. In 2016, Rudi partnered with Jake to open Smash Gyms, and in the same year Jake opened Smash Gyms in Milpitas, CA, which eventually expanded to include Sunnyvale. Coach Rudi is a San Shou World Champion, and in 2009 Coach Jake won three gold medals at the Maccabiah Games and captured the Munich Grand Prix Open in Tel Aviv, Israel. Smash Gyms hosts events, supports local causes, and creates ways to connect beyond the gym to inspire healthier lives and make a positive impact in the community.
