The director, Jason Wanyoike, graduated from Mission Viejo High School and the University of Oregon, where he majored in Economics with a minor in Business Administration. Jason was hired as a part-time tutor at Tutoring Club, helped students of all ages, and later became the Enrollment Director at Tutoring Club of Mission Viejo, in the same town where his own academic journey began.
One parent, Daryl H., reports that their eighth-grade daughter, who has a diagnosed learning disability in math and initially tested at a fourth-grade math level at age 14, has attended once-a-week, one-hour tutoring sessions since near the beginning of the school year, and that her MAP math scores increased from 202 to 222, with 226–228 noted as the basic expected score for an eighth grader; they also state that she never complains about going to tutoring. Another parent, Rachel B., shares that Tutoring Club has been a place for her children to get extra help in some subjects, notes the staff’s friendly and helpful attitude, and mentions that their fourth-grade son’s writing improved according to his elementary school teacher and that he stays interested through a reward program. A third parent, Pamela H., states that her daughter loves going to Tutoring Club, feels it has really helped her, and describes the environment as encouraging and supportive, adding that they are happy with their decision to sign up and wish they had done it earlier.
