10th Planet Mission Viejo

10th Planet Mission Viejo offers training in Jiu Jitsu (Gi and No Gi), Judo, Wrestling, and Muay Thai. Classes include hands-on drilling with partners, practicing set combinations, and conditioning the body to be fight-ready. Muay Thai instruction follows a technical Dutch-Thai approach that emphasizes a boxing-heavy style with low kicks.

10th Planet Mission Viejo is south Orange County’s first and only 10th Planet location and offers programs for both kids and adults. Owner and head instructor Matthew Salinas is a jiu-jitsu black belt with two decades of martial arts training and over a decade of coaching experience, including coaching fighters in the UFC, Bellator, and Rizin, and serving as head coach at multiple 10th Planet locations and at Team Oyama MMA’s grappling team. Wrestling coach Kyle Chene has 25 years of wrestling experience and competed Division 1 at Cal Poly San Luis Obispo, with multiple state and conference honors. Muay Thai coach Chris Paez is a professional Muay Thai fighter and fit coach with over ten years of competition experience, more than twenty-five sanctioned fights, three amateur titles in California, and five years of professional coaching experience. According to the program’s mission statement, Matt Salinas aims to provide a positive, beginner-friendly, family environment with a holistic approach to martial arts training, covering both sport and self-defense, and states that it is his mission to serve the community of South Orange County.
