Sessions are by appointment only and are available Mondays through Saturdays in the mornings, afternoons, and evenings. The program uses the tagline “Self Defense for Life™” and follows the approach described by Shaolin Kempo Grandmaster Fred Villari: “Kempo fits itself to you, not the other way around.”

Villari’s Martial Arts has been at the forefront of the martial arts world since 1968 and has been in Orange County since 1983, with Master Robert Bombalier leading the Orange County schools since 1989. The leadership team includes Master Robert Bombalier, a 10th Degree Master of Shaolin Kempo Karate, Doctor of Chinese Medical Qigong, and Doctor of Traditional Chinese Medicine, and Great Grand Master Frederick J. Villari, founder of the Shaolin Kempo Karate system and founder and mentor of North America’s largest network of martial arts studios. Master Bombalier has been studying martial arts for over 45 years and teaching for over 35 years, is one of the seven recognized authorities in Shaolin Kempo Karate (“the Seven Dragons”), and specializes in grappling, pressure points, T’ai Chi, all weapons, and breaking.

The program’s mission statements emphasize listening and creating programs that fit the individual, focusing on greater competency and confidence in knowledge and skills, and offering advanced techniques, in-depth principles, and a range of training methods from postural alignment to the spine in motion. The program also states that training addresses physical, intellectual, and emotional needs, and that students benefit from learning self defense skills and improving their health on multiple levels. Martial arts training is complemented by the healing arts, with an emphasis on Qigong for healing and disease prevention.

Master Bombalier began streaming over 15 years ago and streams lessons five days a week. The program is described as a massive resource for Shaolin Kempo Karate enthusiasts, especially those who have achieved their black belts and are looking to further their training and expand their repertoire. Master Bombalier offers tours to China and the Shaolin Temple, including immersion in training with the Shaolin Monks at the Shaolin Temple, and there are plans for a trip to Japan in 2021.

The program offers a Frontline Responder program that provides a 20% discount for individuals providing essential services to the public. Testimonials describe the martial arts taught in this system as a form of recreation, a way to keep in shape, and a method of defending oneself, and they describe Master Bombalier as a long-time teacher with strong knowledge of Qigong and Shaolin Kempo Karate and as a “true master.” Another testimonial notes a seminar led by Master Bombalier that covered the three shapes of the body, a rib destructive Kempo technique, and grappling on the mat.

Great Grand Master Villari has been internationally recognized and respected as a leading pioneer in the world of martial arts and is described as one of the most sought-after masters and modern-day pioneers of the martial arts in the world. He has been instrumental in helping over 15,000 individuals achieve the rank of Black Belt and in sharing the art with well over 15 million students worldwide.
