Community Lifelong Learning is a self-supporting, not-for-credit program that offers short-term professional and personal enrichment classes, continuing education classes, career training programs, and events to community members. Classes offered through Community Lifelong Learning are not funded with tax dollars, and enrollment fees support the program. Course offerings change regularly, and registration is recommended at least one week in advance to ensure courses meet their minimum enrollment. The program offers a wide range of highly interactive ed2go not-for-credit courses that are taken entirely over the internet and are described as affordable, fun, fast, convenient, and geared to the participant. All off-campus extracurricular field trips and excursions are voluntary, and children ages 14–17 may register for an adult course upon approval from the instructor and the MJC Community Lifelong Learning department.

In some cases an additional material fee may be charged, usually paid to the instructor on the first day of class or sometimes collected at registration. Some courses may require the student to bring supplies, and information is provided in the course description, with instructions to call the office at (209) 575-6063 if a supply list is mentioned but not specified, and to wait to purchase supplies until checking that the class will not be canceled.
