Morgan Hill Parent Child Nursery School

Morgan Hill Parent Child Nursery School offers play-based classes where children take part in centers, circle time, small group activities, enrichment projects, crafts, science exploration, math, language, puzzles, creative play, music, and story time. Children interact with letters, numbers, Zoo-phonics, fine motor activities, writing, scissors, outdoor environment exploration, sensory and gross motor opportunities, and field trips such as trips to the pumpkin patch, library, and Windsor Family Farm, along with presentations by MHPD, CAL FIRE, dentists, and other local healthcare workers. The program also includes sound and music exploration experiences, bike path riding, climbing dome play, playhouses, a mud kitchen, swinging bars, a sand area, a play structure, a circle time area, manipulatives for fine motor and pre-writing skills, science materials to explore the senses including a light table, cars, blocks and other building toys, a reading corner, a doll house, math and pre-writing tools, language and literacy experiences, rotating dramatic play areas such as a play kitchen, doctor office, and veterinary clinic, themed art projects, playdough, process art, sensory experiences, and interacting with class pets by gathering eggs and watching the fish.

• Schedule: Play-based classes with options Monday–Thursday 9:00am–1:00pm, Monday, Wednesday and Friday 8:30am–11:30am, Tuesday and Thursday 8:30am–11:00pm, and Wednesday 3:30pm–5:00pm

Morgan Hill Parent Child Nursery School was founded in 1969 and has been serving South Bay families for over 50 years as Morgan Hill's longest operating preschool. The program is a unique cooperative institution owned and administered by participating parents, with family involvement and parent participation in the preschool. It offers play-based classes for children 15 months to 5 years old, and no potty training is required for any classes. The program is based on the idea that the best education for a child is the active partnership of parents, teachers, and children. Morgan Hill Parent Child Nursery School is a nonsectarian nonprofit organization licensed by the Santa Clara County Department of Social Services and is a member of the Santa Clara Valley Council (SCVC) and the California Council of Parent Participation Nursery Schools (CCPPNS). The school includes classroom pets, which currently include fish and chickens, with chickens noted as soon to return.
