South County Basketball Academy offers basketball instruction that includes dribbling skills, shooting, passing, and team work. The program emphasizes balanced teams with man-to-man defense and uses high school officials who both call and explain fouls and violations for the players’ benefit. Separate girls’ leagues and boys’ leagues are offered, and all players who register agree to team balancing, including possible re-evaluation and player shifts after the first two league games.
• Ages: 6–14 years old
• Schedule: 8 week season
• Price: Base fee: $200.00 for the 8 week season. $225.00 for players needing to replace or purchase a new jersey. Basic Fee Structure: $200.00 for a player with a SCBA jersey; $225.00 for a player needing a new jersey.
When jerseys are picked up, new players select their jersey before the clinic. The league director is Jim Green (President), the auditorium director is Mike Myhre, and coach’s development and team evaluation are led by Steve Ellingson. The stated mission is to focus players on good sportsmanship and basic fundamentals. S.C.B.A. has donated over $200,000.00 to Morgan Hill programs in its 26 years of existence.
