Established in 2012, The Dance Hall has offered dance classes for over 10 years. Hip Hop Craze is a competitive and performance dance company with dancers ranging in age from 5–20. The program’s director, Tiffany Maaske-Miller, first created Hip Hop Craze in 2002. The mission of Hip Hop Craze is to give local youth and young adults a way to gain knowledge and skills in dance and performance, while building confidence, creativity, leadership, teamwork, and long-term friendships, and encouraging students to stay focused on academics, education, future goals, and giving back to their communities.
The program describes its training as professional and experienced and its atmosphere as fun, energetic, and creative. Its instructors have trained hundreds of dancers of different ages and levels, and the program offers classes for all ages and levels in styles such as jazz, cheer, and hip hop. The company states that its programs promote physical fitness, artistic expression, and personal growth, and that its priority is to host a positive program for local youth with a focus on self-esteem, passion, creativity, talent, and work ethic.
Hip Hop Craze travels to regional and national competitions and reports winning numerous awards and national titles. Dancers perform several times a year around the Bay Area, including half-time shows for the Golden State Warriors of the NBA. The program also hosts several of its own productions each year, reporting regular sell-out audiences of about 400–800 people per show.
