The Math Coach offers one-on-one math tutoring through in-person and online sessions. Students can work on specific subjects such as arithmetic, pre-algebra, algebra 1 and 2, geometry, trigonometry, pre-calculus, calculus, differential equations, discrete math, linear algebra, probability, and statistics. Tutoring is available for elementary school math, middle school math, high school math, college math, and for ACT, SAT, and GMAT exam preparation.

The Math Coach can meet at a student’s home or at other convenient spots.
The Math Coach is led by local tutor Diana Chang, an Electronics Engineer with a Master’s Degree and over 20 years of tutoring experience. She is multilingual and can teach in English, Spanish, and Chinese, and has experience teaching students from Latin America, China, and the USA. The program develops personalized study plans after initial sessions, uses customized approaches based on each student’s learning style, and focuses on identifying and addressing gaps in math fundamentals. The Math Coach has been in operation since at least 2017 and is described as “Morgan Hill’s Math Tutor.” The stated mission is, “Education is for improving the lives of others and for leaving your community and world better than you found it.”
Parents and students have shared that they saw grade improvements, including first-ever A grades in math, after working with Diana. Testimonials describe her as able to find gaps in a student’s understanding, explain challenging concepts, and walk students through problems step-by-step.
