A shared story from the YMCA highlights a 4-year-old named Maritza, whose parents enrolled her in YMCA swim lessons because they themselves had never learned to swim, and notes that swim lessons at the Y made swim drills playful and fun. Each year, contributions from donors help El Camino YMCA provide assistance and resources to neighborhoods and community members, and YMCA of Silicon Valley describes itself as strengthening Silicon Valley by promoting health, empowering youth, and supporting neighbors through partnerships and commitment to the community.
