About
A Place of My Own is a program where children are placed in age-appropriate classrooms for class time each day. During play times held both inside and outside, children have the opportunity to play with all ages from 2 to 6. The program depends on personal parent participation from APOMO families.
• Ages: 2–6 years old
• Schedule: Phone contact available Monday–Friday, 7:30 a.m.–5:30 p.m. PST
A Place of My Own has been teaching children in Napa for 40 years. The program is designed to develop a child’s sense of independence and responsibility and provides a developmentally appropriate program that gives children an environment for success, encouraging them to learn through play. APOMO is a 501(c) non-profit organization run by an Executive Director and a parent Board of Directors. The program seeks out well-educated and experienced teachers with a passion for working with young children.
The program asks for a minimum of 5 hours of parent participation per school year, which can include activities such as flipping burgers at the annual fundraiser, planting in the garden, or donating snack items or supplies for the curriculum. APOMO holds bi-monthly Board Meetings, and parents are encouraged to attend and share their input.
