About
Art Classes at Jessel Gallery offers acrylic painting, watercolor painting, illustration, mixed media art, collage, assemblage, floral design, floral arrangement, and tarot card reading. All lessons are customized to fit each student’s needs, and no prior experience is required. Each student completes a personalized piece of art, and Jessel Gallery provides all project supplies except for sessions with John Roos, where students bring their own supplies.
• Price: Painting classes: $75/single drop-in or $200/four-class pass (doesn't expire). Floral arrangement class: $95/class and all supplies included.
Established in 1984, Jessel Gallery began in three small rooms within the former Hedgeside Whiskey Distillery and now fills a 6,500 square foot building. Acrylic painting is taught by Jessel Miller, watercolor painting by Diane Pope, illustration and acrylic by John Roos, mixed media art (including collage and assemblage) by Sunshine Moeschler, and floral design by Heather Hamilton. Zelda is available every Saturday for a free tarot card reading. The gallery has an animal-friendly, kid-friendly policy and has been voted Napa's Best Art Gallery and Napa Valley's best art experience. Shows by groups such as the Napa Photographic Society, Napa Valley Open Studios, and Brown Street Gallery (adults with developmental disabilities) have been showcased, and a Plein Air artist attends events to paint the view as a record of important milestones. Visitors describe Jessel Gallery as offering fun classes, a variety of different mediums, many artists’ works, and art at reasonable prices, and they note that Jessel hosts many art classes and shows throughout the year with potlucks.
