The mission of Napa Valley Education Foundation is to empower Napa Valley youth to broaden horizons, deepen knowledge, and develop the skills to step confidently into their future as healthy, capable, and successful members of the community. NVEF serves more than 10,000 youth and 1,000 educators across Napa County schools, including Napa Valley Unified, St. Helena Unified, Calistoga Joint Unified, Howell Mountain Elementary, Pope Valley Union Elementary, and the Napa County Office of Education. NVEF builds partnerships with schools and community organizations and coordinates countywide care for thousands of K–12 students and families during times of disaster.
Through Career Connection, more than 350 students each year receive hands-on mentoring and real job experience in partnership with Napa’s top employers, and 56% of participating youth are hired. Over 6,000 youth take part in camps, workshops, and after-school music education programs, and 1,600 instruments are provided annually at no or low cost. School Wellness Centers supported by NVEF provide care for more than 16,000 students each year through screenings and mental health support and have reduced suspensions by 61%. Discovery Campus is described as a hands-on community arts and education center and a hub for creativity, collaboration, and future-focused learning and is expected to serve thousands of students each year. NVEF has received the John P. Glaser Leadership Award and has awarded more than $1.5 million to teachers at 18 schools.
