Summer Recreation Program

The Summer Recreation Program includes supervised sports, games, arts & crafts, and special guest days. The program also includes snacks and lunch for participating children. Teen volunteers ages 13–17 help lead activities and assist with the program.

• Ages: 5–12 years old
• Schedule: Monday–Thursday, four-week sessions
• Price: $10 per week per child

Since its launch in 1979, the League of Volunteers has run programs such as the Summer Recreation Program for kids in Fremont, Newark, and Union City. The organization’s mission is to promote volunteerism and enhance the quality of life in the Tri-Cities area of Fremont, Newark, and Union City, California, and to meet the needs of youth, senior citizens, and the needy. The League of Volunteers also involves teen volunteers ages 13–17 in the Summer Recreation Program to help lead activities, assist staff, and gain leadership experience. The leadership team for the League of Volunteers includes an executive director, office and program support roles, and a board with adult and teen members.
