Parent testimonials describe tutors as professional while creating a warm and loving learning environment, and note that some children enjoy attending tutoring and have continued while traveling as a boat-based family. One parent reports that a fourth grader who had social and emotional difficulties and falling grades saw an immediate difference at school after starting Activ8, asked to attend daily, and later received all A’s on math tests without extra time or school support. Another parent reports improvements in homework, organization, time management, grades, and confidence for a fourth grader, and describes staff and tutors as going above and beyond normal tutoring responsibilities. A parent of a child with learning differences describes receiving an action plan from Anna Laboon, feeling prepared for IEP and IDR meetings, avoiding hiring an attorney, and working with the district to meet their daughter’s needs, and states that their daughter is thriving. Other testimonials describe highly educated tutors, a fun-filled environment, individual attention to learning styles, improved grades, increased academic confidence, and children enjoying attending sessions. One family reports that a child’s tutor works directly with the classroom teacher and school curriculum, and that the child is thriving in math and has increased understanding of new concepts. Another parent of a child diagnosed with dyslexia and ADHD reports meeting with Anna four times a week, a strong bond between tutor and child, a two-grade-level increase in reading in four months, and support with finding a psychologist covered by insurance and attending IEP meetings, as well as contact with the district to secure services.
