Camp James Summer Day Camp offers activities such as Archery, Go Carts, Rock Climbing, Kayak, Arts & Crafts, Dance, Sports, and Swimming. Each day, campers have four activities, including at least one water activity. All activities take place on the camp grounds.
• Ages: 5–13 years old
• Schedule: Weekly sessions from June 8–August 14, 2026, with camp hours from 9:00 am–4:00 pm and a grace period from 8:30–9:00 am and 4:00–4:30 pm
• Price: There is a $35 registration fee per camper; camp rates depend on the day of registration, with a minimum number of weeks required for each rate, a $25 schedule change fee when a change can be made, and extra charges after 4:30 pm
For over 30 years, Camp James Summer Day Camp has operated as a summer day camp in Orange County. Groups are co-ed and organized by age, use animal names such as Rhinos, Rabbits, and Bears, and follow set group ratios. The camp is accredited through the American Camp Association and has been voted the #1 Day Camp in Newport Beach. The camp’s philosophy is “Be Kind” to each other, the environment, and the campgrounds. Directors are described as educated, experienced, and dedicated professionals. The camp is a cell-free environment, and families are asked to have campers leave cell phones, watches, and tablets at home. An adult checks in each camper daily and picks up with a pick-up code, with Drive Thru Drop Off available in the morning. If a camper arrives late, an adult needs to check them in and walk them to their group. Staff members use camp-only nicknames such as Legend, Cocoa, Northshore, Koda, and Grey Squirrel.
