About
St. Mark Community Preschool offers a half day preschool program where children dance, sing, cook, make art, learn letters, and tell fantastic stories. The program includes optional extended day preschool schedules for potty trained children and takes place in a setting that many parents describe as a “home away from home” preschool environment.
• Ages: 2½–6 years old
• Schedule: Half day preschool program with optional extended day preschool schedules
The program is a non-profit weekday preschool open to children of all racial, religious, and ethnic backgrounds who are between two and a half and six years old. St. Mark Community Preschool offers various enrollment options that range from 2, 3, 4, or 5 days per week, and a child may be enrolled for any combination of days that class openings allow. The preschool features small classroom sizes and teacher to child ratios, an enriched and loving developmentally appropriate program, a warm and loving, family-centered environment, and large outdoor play spaces in the Nature Yard and playground. Experienced, educated, and professional teachers lead the classrooms, and the program is directed by Monica Heredia.
The mission of St. Mark Community Preschool is to be an inclusive and nurturing community that fosters the social, emotional, intellectual, spiritual, and physical growth of the children in its care, and to provide an atmosphere that affirms the importance of every person and encourages the creative exploration of the physical world, interpersonal relationships, and new ideas. Parents describe the teachers as warm, caring, and dedicated to both academic and creative growth, and note that their children have blossomed from the developmentally appropriate curriculum and love going to school each day. One parent highlights the fun, creative, and loving environment, the focus on crucial skills for kindergarten readiness, and the large outdoor play spaces in the Nature Yard and playground as an added bonus. Many parents say, “Everybody loves St. Mark!”
