About
Roseshell's Roundup Adaptable Horsemanship Program offers an adaptable horsemanship schooling program with a focus on the fundamentals, including foundational horsemanship, understanding equine communication, full horse care, and basic training. The program also includes non-riding options such as Ranch Management & Horse Care, a non-riding group program, and Horsey Hang Out, a non-riding program. All clients are welcome, and the program is designed for students of various ages and abilities in a family friendly environment where the curriculum goes beyond just riding.
• Ages: 4–18 years old
• Schedule: Ranch hours Tuesday–Saturday during daytime hours
Children’s classes are offered for ages 4–18, and adult classes are available for ages 19 and up. A required “Meet & Greet” appointment allows prospective students to tour the facility, meet the horses and instructors, and talk about personal goals. The program prioritizes safety and individual needs within its scope of practice and includes horses with described roles and temperaments, such as horses serving non-verbal students, those with physical disabilities, wheelchair users, and bigger students.
Roseshell's Roundup Adaptable Horsemanship Program is led by founder Miss Roseshell (Roseshell Weaver), whose program history dates to 2022 and who has worked with the special needs community throughout her career. The mission of the program is to bring horse lovers together to delve into the art of working with horses, engage with horses, cultivate important life skills, and appreciate the beauty and challenge of ranch life and horse care in a welcoming and inclusive environment, with personal growth and self-exploration at each student’s own pace supported by a team of experienced horse enthusiasts. The program is an approved vendor with Heartland Charter School and Tri-Counties Regional Center and is a Transportation Partner with UCP+. Testimonials shared by the program include the quotes, “A great horse will change your life. The truly special ones define it...” and “If there are no horses in heaven, then there's no heaven for me.”
