Riverside West National Junior Basketball (NJB) offers youth basketball that includes Fall Basketball Signups, regular season games, a Fall Tournament, player evaluations for certain divisions, and an End of Season party. The program also includes a Championship Series tournament for some teams, All Star's for selected players, and a parent meeting at the first practice. Teams are formed using a fantasy football style draft, and jerseys and shorts are given to players by the coach at practice one week before the first game.
• Ages: 5–18 years old
• Schedule: Fall league with practices starting in August, games on Sunday afternoons, and a winter season of around 10 games; rookie players practice once a week on Saturday mornings, while divisional and high school players practice twice a week including Saturday mornings
• Price: Coaches get a $50 credit/discount on their player’s registration.
Riverside West NJB includes a Boys/Co-Ed League for grades K to 8th, a Girls Only Program with a Girls NJB League and Fall signups, and a High School Program for grades 9th through 12th. Rookie Division players in grades K through 1st do not participate in player evaluations, while divisional teams in grades 2nd through 8th take part in a one-day Championship Series tournament at the end of the season, and trophies are given out at the last game. Once a child is registered and payment is made, the program guarantees a spot on a team, and every player makes a team. Riverside West NJB is part of NJB, which has been California's largest youth basketball league for over 40 years and is in its 41st year. The program is a 501(c)(3) non-profit that exists to promote community through basketball. The Riverside West NJB Director is Thomas Boyer, who is also Director of the Stars/AAU Travel Ball team.
