About
Camp Pathfinder offers a land-based learning journey rooted in Traditional Ecological Knowledge (TEK), Cultural Emotional Intelligence, hands-on science, and creative exploration. Campers take part in immersive, TEK inspired arts and science labs that include activities with content experts, Cultural demonstrators, Native artisans, animal ambassadors, and Elders. Each day follows an elemental pathway aligned with the four cardinal directions: Earth, Wind, Fire, and Water, and campers participate in age-based learning circles called Wiggle Worms, Mischief Makers, and Wise Old Owls.

For over half a century, the center offering this camp has been dedicated to celebrating and preserving Indigenous cultures. Its mission is to uplift, support, and make visible the Indigenous Peoples of the Americas by offering authentic educational programs and cultural resources to Marin and the greater Bay Area. Support for this program has been provided by the California Arts Council, the Marin Community Foundation, the San Francisco Foundation, and the Coast Miwok Tribal Council of Marin. Additional funding support has been provided by California Humanities and the National Endowment for the Humanities (NEH) as part of the Coronavirus Aid, Relief and Economic Security (CARES) Act economic stabilization plan of 2020, and support has also been provided for the Aay-Ko Indigenous Nature-Based Playgroup by First 5 Marin.
