Community Action Marin Children’s Centers After School Care is part of Community Action Marin’s early childhood education and care programs. Hamilton Children’s Center and Old Gallinas Children’s Center & Production Farm both offer After School Care as well as Preschool and TK–3rd grade programs. The Food & Climate Justice team provides healthy meals to children in these programs.

Community Action Marin has been helping people and changing lives since 1966. The organization is a 501(c)(3) non-profit anti-poverty social services agency and is one of 1,100 Community Action agencies across the country. Its mission is to make it possible for people in Marin to achieve well-being by providing the vital services they need and to break down barriers to fair and lasting change in service to better outcomes for all. Community Action Marin Children’s Centers are part of a network that has seen 30,000 children graduate from its childcare centers. During the 2022–2023 school year, 150,000 meals and snacks were provided to children enrolled in programs. The agency has earned a Candid Platinum Seal of Transparency and is a Marin Promise Partner.

Community Action Marin partners with Marin nonprofits and local officials. The Food & Climate Justice team also provides healthy meals to older adults across the community. Community Action Marin provides high-touch career coaching and job training, supporting individuals with attaining employer-recognized certificates and credentials and obtaining employment in high-demand professions.

According to Board Member Adam Hirschfelder of Food & Climate Justice, Community Action Marin partners with Marin nonprofits and local officials, shares stories to raise awareness of issues, and works to change policies and systems that perpetuate economic divides in Marin. Johnathan Logan, VP for Community Engagement at the Marin Community Foundation, describes Community Action Marin as a community leader on issues of equity and social justice that understands the connection between civic engagement and economic empowerment.
