About
Cal-Star Gymnastics Jr. Coach Program gives participants the chance to learn how to coach gymnastics, parkour, cheerleading, tumbling, ninja gym, and kinder gym. Jr. coaches can assist with summer and winter gymnastics camps, ninja gym camp, spring and summer cheer camps, birthday parties, and activities such as warm-up, floor exercise basics, bar stations, basic trampoline skills, party games, obstacles, challenges, games, parachute games, hurricane swing, and open play time.

Cal-Star Gymnastics opened in 1996 and is owned by Amber Myers. The Jr. Coach Program is for ages 14–16 years old who are seeking to learn how to coach gymnastics, parkour, cheerleading and assist at camps, with new coaches able to work with and shadow professional gymnastics instructors until they gain confidence to lead their own classes. Participants can learn skills to be a professional coach and get hired anywhere in the country, and may receive a recommendation letter upon completion or a possible job opportunity. Online classes, clinics and camp opportunities are available for additional training.
Coaching staff have cleared a thorough background check, hold USAG Instructor or Professional membership, are Safesport certified, CPR/First Aid certified, USAG Safety certified, and have passed the U100 Gymnastics course, with in-house training provided annually by staff with over 30 years of coaching experience. Coaches also earn continuing education credits through online courses, attending Gymnastics Congress, and USAG clinics during the year. Cal-Star Gymnastics reports that it has been proudly serving Marin County with a diverse range of programs designed to inspire and empower young athletes and provides classes for ages 1–17 years old, including levels 2 through 10 in the women’s Junior Olympic program, active participation in the National TOPS program, and an All-Star Cheer program with full-year and half-year prep and elite teams for ages 7–17 years, plus a Tinys program for cheerleaders ages 4–6.
