North Bay Jiu Jitsu offers Brazilian Jiu Jitsu classes for kids and adults, including Kids Jiu Jitsu, Adult Jiu Jitsu, No Gi Jiu Jitsu, and no-gi grappling. The program also includes wrestling, boxing, MMA fitness, a Saturday Open Mat, and Kids Summer Camps.

North Bay Jiu Jitsu has proudly served Novato and Marin County since 2014 and has trained over 2,300 students. The academy’s leadership team includes founder and owner Tryfon Stathopoulos, a Brazilian Jiu Jitsu black belt and 2x World Champion with over 25 years of experience who has been teaching since 2005. Other instructors include brown belt and academy administrator Sonia Lastreto, black belt instructor and founding member Chris Cashman (the first homegrown black belt at North Bay Jiu Jitsu), brown belt instructor Sebastian Uhalde, black belt and main kids instructor Paulo Silva, BJJ purple belt and boxing/MMA fitness coach Dmytro Pakhan, and BJJ blue belt and No Gi specialist Jacob Miller. North Bay Jiu Jitsu describes its mission as focusing on structured, practical Brazilian Jiu Jitsu that is accessible and sustainable for the long term, with techniques that work for real self-defense and everyday training and a beginner-friendly culture where kids and adults train with confidence. The academy serves students from across Marin County, including Novato, San Rafael, Petaluma, Mill Valley, Fairfax, and Corte Madera. During the free 7 day trial, a Gi (uniform) is available to borrow.
