Growth Mindset Collective offers Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, Gi Jiu Jitsu, No Gi Jiu Jitsu, Judo, Muay Thai, striking, Kids Jiu Jitsu, Adult Beginner Jiu Jitsu, Women’s Jiu Jitsu, and specialty programs. The program includes structured curriculum built on technically sound fundamentals and has programs for kids, teens, and adults.

Growth Mindset Collective is a family-owned martial arts academy founded and run by husband-and-wife team Coach Mark Miller and Sabrina. Coach Mark Miller is the Head Coach and Founder, a Brazilian Jiu Jitsu Black Belt under 5-time World Champion Eduardo Rocha, with over 20 years of martial arts experience and teaching since 2009 throughout the Bay Area. Judo is taught by experienced instructor Mr. Lucky Chan. Sabrina is a co-founder and coach who earned her master’s degree in Kinesiology and has a professional background centered around education, movement, and human development.
Growth Mindset Collective was founded on the belief that people grow when they are challenged, supported, and given the opportunity to develop meaningful skills, with a mission to build a community where people can challenge themselves. The academy focuses on confidence, discipline, resilience, and problem-solving skills for kids, and offers an Adult Beginner Program with a 12-week curriculum designed specifically for adults with little or no prior experience. The program also offers a Women’s Only Jiu Jitsu class for women and teenage girls, where beginners are welcome, and a free trial where the first class is free.
Growth Mindset Collective began with Jiu Jitsu classes taught from an Oakley garage before opening a dedicated martial arts academy in 2025. It is a family-owned Oakley business built in Oakley for Oakley, founded by coaches who grew up in Oakley, attended Oakley schools, and returned to raise their family and build something for the community that raised them. The academy serves Oakley and neighboring communities including Brentwood, Antioch, Discovery Bay, Bethel Island, Knightsen, Byron, and surrounding areas, and is described in testimonials as bringing a positive light to the Cypress Square Shopping Center and the city of Oakley.
