Five Cities Youth Baseball includes coach registration and opportunities for umpiring at its games. Junior Umpires officiate farm and minors games and take part in umpire training. Training is also provided for adult umpires.
• Ages: 5–18 years old
• Price: Adult umpires are paid per game, depending on experience.
The program uses the mission statement “WHERE THE PLAYER COMES FIRST!” Adult umpires can earn money to officiate in Pismo Beach, and Junior Umpires gain experience by working farm and minors games. Training is provided for umpires. The organization has announced that the Blair field scorebooth was destroyed by arson, and it reports that umpire gear, coaching equipment, the entire season’s fertilizer for the grass, the PA system, scorekeeping devices, and game streaming electronics were lost. A GoFundMe is live to help replace what was lost, and tax deductible donations are accepted via email and Venmo. The organization states that it is working with the city of Pismo Beach and its insurance to determine replacement costs and when it can rebuild.
