Reading Reach Literacy Center

Reading Reach Literacy Center offers reading and spelling tutoring, dyslexia intervention, ELA enrichment classes, a dyslexia screener and literacy evaluation, and summer reading programs. The tutoring and dyslexia intervention sessions are one-on-one structured literacy lessons for Grades K-8. The ELA enrichment classes for Grades K-3rd and 4th-6th meet on Mondays and Wednesdays from 10:30am to 12:00pm and focus on reading and writing.

Programs

• Reading & Spelling Tutoring — Grades K-8 · 1-2 times per week, 45 mins each · One-on-one structured literacy lessons; minimum of one semester commitment to measure significant progress.
• Dyslexia Intervention — Grades K-8 · Minimum of twice per week, 45 mins each · One-on-one structured literacy lessons based on the Orton-Gillingham approach; minimum of one semester commitment.
• ELA Enrichment Classes — Grades K-3rd and 4th-6th · Mondays and Wednesdays from 10:30am-12:00pm · Morning enrichment class for homeschoolers with an emphasis on reading and writing; minimum of one semester commitment.
• Dyslexia Screener & Literacy Evaluation — Grades K-8 · Literacy assessment of multiple measures of reading and spelling; appointment required.
• Summer Reading Programs — Incoming 1st-5th graders · Orton-Gillingham structured literacy intensive summer class based on the science of reading.

About the provider

Reading Reach has been a licensed business since 2021. Its mission is to help every student build essential reading and spelling skills in a supportive and professional environment. The leadership team includes Julie Herd, MS, C-SLDI, A/OGA; Matt Herd; Dana Bonwell, M.A.; Stefanie Servin, M.A.; Janel Napolitano; Christine Kopfstein; Debi Adelman; Jennie Marsaglia, M.A.; and Sophia Gerdes. Reading Reach was named Oceanside's Best Tutoring Service in 2024, 2025, and 2026.

• Holiday closure — Closed Wed-Fri, November 25-27, 2026 (Fall break)
• Holiday closure — Closed Mon-Fri, December 21-25, 2026 (Winter break)
• Holiday closure — Closed Thurs-Fri, December 31, 2026-January 1, 2027 (New Year break)

Minimum of one semester commitment for tutoring, dyslexia intervention, and ELA enrichment classes. School-year commitment preferred; semester commitment required for group classes. Flat rate monthly regardless of holidays, closures, attendance, etc. No makeup days for absences in group classes. Limited availability for tutoring. Automatic recurring billing or charter funds accepted for tutoring and reading intervention sessions. Contact us to begin the enrollment process. The summer programs state: all sessions are full.
