The ADTC mission states that the organization believes girls should do what they love and that the world needs strong and inspired girls who are doing more of what they love. The mission also states that ADTC overnight dance camps offer a tight-knit, all-girl community without confusing media images and a chance for campers to reconnect with their authentic selves, with a summer team trained to empower girls and a goal for every camper to have fun and grow as a dancer and a person.
ADTC reports an overall rating of 5 out of 5 based on 223 reviews. Most testimonials include an email for the alumni parent at the end of their review, and parents are invited to contact these parents for more feedback about their ADTC experience. One parent from Bear, DE, describes ADTC as “fun, positive, and self-esteem building” and notes that her daughter attended solo and came home with new friends, experiences, and a renewed interest in different styles of dance. Another parent from Breckenridge, CO, reports that her daughter has attended ADTC in Colorado for 5 summers, describes strong bonds with counselors and campers, mentions activities such as girls’ night out, a day at the beach with paddle boarding and swimming, and talent night, and notes that her daughter learned to perform a solo in front of an audience. A parent from Framingham, MA, reports that her daughter has attended two summers in a row, enjoys the mix of dance and non-dance activities, and describes the shows as excellent based on what the dancers accomplish in one week.
