California Gymnastics offers Beginning Recreation classes that focus on the basics of gymnastics on vault, bars, beam, floor, and trampoline. Students rotate through stations and learn safe progressions of skills. It also offers Intermediate and Advanced Recreation classes, Advanced Training, Pre School Beginning for ages 3 to 5, Pre School Advanced for ages 3 to 5, Parent and Me, Boys, Tumbling for girls ages 10 to 17 who already know a cartwheel and a handstand, and Privates.
Programs
- Beginning Recreation — Focuses on learning the basics of gymnastics on vault, bars, beam, floor and trampoline. Students rotate through stations and learn safe progressions of skills.
- Intermediate and Advanced Recreation — Girls who have mastered the skills in the beginning or intermediate level · Non-competitive classes that teach more difficult gymnastic skills.
- Advanced Training — Non-competitive invitation-only class for gymnasts who have shown proficiency in intermediate level skills and want to progress further.
- Pre School Beginning — 3 - 5 years · Co-ed class with activity stations, warm-up, and basic body positions using parachutes, jump ropes, balls and hoops.
- Pre School Advanced — 3 - 5 years · Invitation-only class for students who show exceptional ability or desire to learn.
- Parent and Me — Parent participation class teaching gymnastics basics on bars, beam, floor and trampoline.
- Boys — All boys class focusing on trampoline and tumbling skills.
- Tumbling — Girls ages 10-17 · Beginning to advanced tumbling skills for girls who already know a cartwheel and a handstand.
- Privates — Private lessons scheduled with the individual coach. Students must already be enrolled in a class.

About the provider
California Gymnastics has been operating since 1989. Its mission statement says it offers a fun, safe, and healthy gymnastics experience while encouraging physical fitness in every child. The program includes USAG Competitive Teams and notes that charter schools are accepted, open classes are available, and there are no registration fees.
Charter schools accepted. Open classes. No registration fees. Enrollment can be done in person, by email, text, or by phone. Makeup policy and transfer information are available. Students must already know how to do a cartwheel and a handstand to participate in Tumbling. Students must be enrolled in a class to do private lessons.
