• Ages: 4.5–14 years old
• Schedule: June 15 – August 21, with registration open all summer
Sandy Days Kids Camp was founded in 2009 and is now in its 18th season, after creating spring and summer memories for thousands of campers over 17 years. The camp operates as a beach-based day camp with age-appropriate activities that campers can choose from on the sand and in the water. The program maintains a 6:1 camper-to-counselor ratio and has an impeccable safety record for more than 17 years, with structured sun-care and hydration practices. Counselors wear blue rash guards and campers wear bright yellow.
The leadership team includes Founder and Director Sina Monjazeb, Assistant Camp Director David “Hippie” Emeson, and Arts & Crafts Director Robyn Mitsch. Many counselors are local teachers, coaches, and childcare professionals. The staff is trained in ocean safety, emergency response, child supervision, environmental awareness, ocean awareness, and sun protection, and all staff complete 16 hours of specialized training before each season, with ongoing education throughout the summer. The camp follows the highest standards of safety and health, meeting California, Los Angeles County, and American Camp Association guidelines.
Sandy Days Kids Camp states that campers choose what they want to do while learning independence and confidence in a safe, nurturing environment, and that the team focuses on each child’s growth, individuality, and joy, with a goal of helping every camper grow with confidence, kindness, and curiosity. Sandy Days Kids Camp is the 2025 Most Loved Winner in the Kids Camp/After School Program category by the Santa Monica Daily Press. The program also offers a Spring Break Camp at Santa Monica Beach, Tower 11, with information to be announced in 2027.
