Lightning Soccer Club opened its doors on April 14, 2010, with the purpose of helping the community through a competitive environment. The club’s main stated goal is to keep athletes out of trouble and have them focus on a way of living through the sport. According to the program’s mission, athletes learn values such as responsibility, discipline, tolerance, commitment, loyalty, sacrifice, and consistency, and are expected to apply these values to their own lives. The organization has approval and recognition from the cities of Lancaster and Palmdale through the Department of Parks & Recreation.
