Alto Swim Club offers a competitive swim team, a fitness and recreation swim team, swimming lessons, private swim lessons, group swim lessons, and the Alto Summer Swim Camp. The program includes options for toddlers, kids, teens, adults, and adaptive lessons, with technique-focused training plus fitness conditioning for all ages. It offers top tier competitive groups for all levels, from the beginner swimmer to the Olympian, including elementary, middle, and high school groups.

Alto Swim Club’s mission is to teach life through swimming and to provide a positive, challenging, and inclusive environment where athletes of all levels can grow. The team philosophy emphasizes commitment to the daily process, technical mastery, goal-setting, and athlete accountability, with a culture that celebrates hard work, commitment, and a passion for the sport. The program’s goal is to develop athletes who carry the lessons of swimming into all areas of life.
Alto Swim Club coaches are USA Swimming registered and certified, including background checks, Athlete Protection Training, USA Swimming SafeSport, Coaches Safety Training, and CPR and First Aid certifications. Alto Swim School lesson instructors complete the Alto Swimming Instructor Certification as well as safety and first aid training. The leadership team includes Coach Laura Mitchell and Coach Joey Sementelli.
Alto Swim Club is the premier United States Swimming team in Palo Alto and Stanford, CA and the surrounding area, and Alto comes from its home, Palo Alto, referencing its connection to the community it represents. The club was the 2019 USA Swimming National Champion and has been recognized as a USA Swimming Club Excellence Silver Medal Team in 2021 and 2022, with Bronze Medal recognition in 2020. Alto Swim Club has also been named one of ASCA’s Top 50 Teams.
