About

FIRST LEGO League gives kids hands-on STEM experiences that include coding, engineering, research, and a robot game. Participants build and program a LEGO Education SPIKE Prime robot and work on a research project to identify and solve a relevant real-world problem. Younger children take part in hands-on activities in the classroom and at home using LEGO DUPLO bricks, and teams design and create unique solutions made with LEGO bricks and powered by LEGO Education SPIKE.

• Ages: 4–16 years old

FIRST LEGO League has three age-appropriate divisions that build upon each other, from playful discovery to real-world problem-solving through coding, engineering, and research. The Discover division is a playful introductory STEM program for children ages 4–6 using LEGO DUPLO bricks. In the Explore division, teams of students ages 6–10 focus on the fundamentals of engineering and real-world problems. In the Challenge division, friendly competition is at the heart of the program for ages 9–16. The mission of FIRST LEGO League is to spark curiosity and confidence in young minds through hands-on STEM experiences. Students around the world come together to take on themed challenges and connect at high-energy local and global events that celebrate creativity, collaboration, and innovation. Families can use the Find FIRST LEGO League Near You tool with country and state selection to locate programs.
