Lydian Academy Tutoring Services offers UC-approved college preparatory and Advanced Placement courses, as well as accelerated UC-approved courses. The program provides academic enrichment in areas such as STEM, writing, and life skills, along with tutoring to deepen subject area competencies, get support with a challenging course at a student’s school, preview an upcoming course, or re-learn skills needed for educational pursuits. Families can also attend a Virtual Open House through weekly Zoom tours to hear more about the school.

Founded in 2006, Lydian Academy Tutoring Services operates under the leadership of Head of School Jonathan Frecceri. The program’s mission is to develop young people with active and creative minds by nurturing their innate joys of learning through authentic academic success. It is accredited by the Western Association of Schools and Colleges (WASC), and its courses are NCAA eligible and UC approved.
Lydian Academy Tutoring Services accepts mid-semester enrollments with rolling, continuous enrollment and commonly enrolls new students every week of the school year. The program is fully customizable and tailored to best serve the student, offering one-on-one learning, on-campus and online options, and the ability for 6th–12th grade students to choose where and how to access their education. Students can choose one-on-one classes online and tutoring programs, and courses on demand often finish in half the time of a traditional classroom school.
Summer learning options include one-on-one or small group UC-approved courses and academic enrichment classes offered both in-person and online. The program provides a year-round one-on-one learning experience personalized to each learner’s challenges and strengths, using Mastery Learning with the belief that all students can succeed if given enough instruction, time, and support. Lydian Academy reports consistently high standardized test scores and a broad college admissions list, and Lydian transcripts are accepted by elite colleges including Stanford, Cornell, Duke, Princeton, UCLA, and UC Berkeley.
More than 3,000 students surveyed say they have learned more at Lydian than at any other school. The program describes itself as unique and unrivaled in one-on-one education, with middle-schoolers receiving a strong academic foundation and high school students choosing from a variety of paths after graduation, including two- and four-year colleges, the workforce, or vocational programs.
