About
The Palo Alto Speech & Debate Camp offers a variety of activities including Impromptu Speaking, Oratory, Lincoln Douglas Debate, Public Speaking, Argumentation, Expository Writing, Persuasion, and Diplomacy. The program is held at Palo Alto High School, where participants can engage in both speech and debate sessions led by experienced staff.
• Ages: 11–18 years old
• Schedule: Speech programs run from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. Debate programs run from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m.

The camp is led by Kyle Hietala, Program Director & Head Coach, and features staff from the national championship Palo Alto High School Speech & Debate team. The team is ranked in the top 3% of all teams in America. The program emphasizes mentorship, service, and teaching, aiming for every camper to learn and grow in speech and debate. It boasts a 4:1 student-teacher ratio and offers both basic and advanced tracks with flexibility in track changes.
