About
Foothills Tennis & Swimming Club Lessons & Clinics offers swimming lessons, swim teams, lap swimming, and adult swim clinics in a heated 25-yard pool. The program also offers tennis lessons, tennis clinics, tennis tournaments, and tennis mixers on seven lighted tennis courts. Families can also take part in swim meets, dinners, parties, work days, crab feeds, wine tasting, parents night out's, and buffets with live music.
Foothills Tennis & Swimming Club Lessons & Clinics is part of a proprietary club that has provided a social and recreational center for families and individuals since it was incorporated as a California non-profit corporation in December 1954, following Ted Carter’s original idea in 1953. The club’s mission states that it provides a social and recreational center for families and individuals who seek a well-appointed but casual environment in which to develop a community of friends. The club has about 400 member families and follows a “do it yourself” philosophy, with members directing and carrying out swim meets, tennis tournaments, dinners, parties, and work days. The leadership team includes Ted Carter (president), Dudley Zinke (vice president), Temp Peck (vice president), Gene Hammond (secretary), and Dick Abbott (treasurer). All tennis and swim lessons and clinics are open to the public, and facilities also include an open-use kitchen, large barbecue grills, a summer Snack Bar, a convenient fitness room, and a Clubhouse available for rent year-round.
