About

Little Makers Camp offers hands-on discovery through tech-powered projects, outdoor adventure, and creative art. Campers take part in hands-on engineering challenges sized for kids, missions, scavenger-style exploration, nature-inspired challenges, and creative challenges. Activities include designing, decorating, storytelling, hands-on growing projects, water-focused experiments, and opportunities to build and test robotic creations inspired by real lunar rovers, investigate how scientists use technology to study and protect oceans, work with underwater robotics, design and create coral-inspired structures, and experiment with structures and materials using basic programming concepts to create their own robotic explorers.

• Schedule: Balanced days that integrate hands-on engineering, outdoor movement, and art

Little Makers Camp is a purpose-driven summer day camp that uses technology as a tool for building, not just screens, with built-in outdoor time, movement, and exploration every day. Art is integrated into projects, encouraging imagination and self-expression as part of engineering. Campers meet a robotics space engineer who works on a real lunar rover launching to space, and activities are inspired by real innovations like 3D-printed reef restoration. The camp emphasizes play-driven learning over rigid instruction, small group settings, gentle social-emotional support and teamwork, and a setting where every child is known and supported.

Little Makers Camp was founded by Jade, a software engineer and former camp director with expertise in developmental play, who holds a degree in Leisure Studies with a focus on the developmental play process and the critical role of play in learning, and Casey, an early childhood educator with a degree in Early Childhood Education and experience across multiple learning environments, most recently serving as a lead preschool teacher at Google. The leadership team includes Co-Founder Jade Hayes and Co-Founder Casey. Little Makers Camp serves families throughout South Bay, Rancho Palos Verdes, and Redondo Beach. The camp’s mission is based on the belief that children learn best through play-driven, hands-on experiences that honor their natural curiosity and creativity.
