About
Dena Youth Basketball (Pasadena Vikings) offers basketball through leagues, tournaments, clinics, team practices, and national level events. The program includes online scoring for tournaments through Exposure Basketball and guarantees 2 games in the 2026 Spring Fling tournament when participating. Game rosters are kept to an 8–10 player maximum when possible, and teams may be split into two if 12 or more players are available.
• Ages: 5–18 years old
• Price: Each family will be responsible for a monthly team fee that is subject to change based upon many variables, such as number of practices, additional gym costs, insurance fees or miscellaneous fees as required by the PUSD. There may be additional fees required during a given month, depending on the cost and number of tournaments the program participates in.
Dena Youth Basketball is a non-profit 501(c)3 organization and describes itself as a development first organization, not an elite organization. Roster spots on Vikings teams are assigned without regard to age, and all teams must provide player birth certificates or passports and a current copy of each player’s report card prior to playing their first game. The program uses a team coaching philosophy with a primary coach and potential coach rotation, and lists Coach Ed and Coach Kaycee in its leadership. Dena Youth Basketball states that it is a very parent friendly organization that does not place great demands of time or resources upon families regarding practices, fees or tournament schedules. The program is powered by LeagueApps, is identified as HOME OF THE PASADENA VIKINGS, and notes partnerships with the NATIONAL BASKETBALL ASSOCIATION and with hotels listed on its site.
