STEAM:CODERS

STEAM:CODERS offers coding, robotics, cybersecurity, digital art, animation, web design, digital music, game design, wearable tech, and sneaker design for students in grades K-12. The coding offerings include Scratch, Python, HTML, and JavaScript, and the robotics offerings include Arduino, Lego, and VEX. It also offers in-person and remote classes, as well as classes, workshops, camps, and field trips.

At a glance

• Ages: 5–18 years old
• General schedule: In-person and remote classes are offered. Courses are delivered at schools, embedded in the school day and after school, weekends at colleges and universities, and at community sites. Post-pandemic, virtual activities have expanded.

About the provider

STEAM:CODERS has been operating since June 2015. Its mission is to introduce students to the fundamentals of Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Math (STEAM) in preparation for academic and career opportunities, and it is committed to providing underserved and underrepresented students with the tools, confidence and expertise to pursue their dreams. The organization’s primary audience is students who attend Title I schools and community organizations and nonprofits that serve these communities.
